The International Cricket Council (ICC) has come under fire from trolls and critics for making a big mistake. That, too, was not a small mistake on their part, but a very serious mistake on the part of the ICC. The ICC has been taken apart for it on social media.
The list of 26 cricketers inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame was released on Sunday. Australian legend Don Bradman, master all-rounder Kapil Dev and Indian legend spinner Anil Kumble were all included. Notables include former Pakistan legend Waqar Younis and Sri Lanka’s spin wizard Maralidharan were all part of the list.
Meanwhile, a big mistake was made on the part of the ICC ‘s social media team. Waqar Younis is referred as an Indian player by the ICC. Not only in the thumbnail of the ICC video about him, but also in the graphics used in it, it is recorded that he is an Indian player.
However, this mistake was pointed out by many and the ICC immediately rectified the situation. By then, however, screen shots of them had been taken by many and circulated on social media. With this, the world came to know about the serious mistake made on the part of the ICC.
Younis has been described as one of Pakistan’s all-time great pace bowlers. In his international career from 1990 to 2008, Younis took 373 wickets in 87 Tests at an average of 23.56 and 416 wickets in 262 ODIs at an average of 23.84. He took five wickets 22 times in Tests and 13 times in ODIs.
